5th Reno Turkish Festival

May 20, 2012. RenoTurkish Festival is returning to capture Nevada's hearts, minds and taste buds. Hosted by the Sierra Foundation (www.sierraf.org), anon-profit organization dedicated to fostering multi-cultural dialogue, thefestival celebrates the diverse history, food and music of this vibrant regionin Turkey. The event is now in its fifth year and will run on May 20, 2012 12:00pmat Wingfield Park in Reno. "Thisyear we are expecting a lot more people and we are confident that we'll satisfyeverybody's appetite for good food and for knowledge of an excitingculture," said Omer Kilavuz, president of Sierra Foundation. Thefestival will again immerse visitors in the sights and sounds of Turkey, oldand new. At each set, craftsmen will demonstrate ancient arts such as watermarbling, calligraphy and there will be performances of regional music, anddance. Turkish Folk Dance group will also return with their awe-inspiringperformances throughout the day.
