The Bottom Line
I probably wouldn't review a burger chain except In-N-Out Burger is mighty popular in Reno. When it opened, the drive-thru was backed up out into the street. Shortly thereafter, a second one opened in Sparks with the same result. Maybe it's the ex-Californians and visitors who make these things work here. In any event, they are still busy all the time.
Pros
- Consistent; you know what you're going to get
- Food actually tastes OK
- Convenient location by the 395 freeway
Cons
- Consistent; you know what you're going to get
- Really busy on weekends
- It's fast food and not very good for you
Description
- Burgers are cooked when you order, not pulled from a shelf where they've been sitting since....
- Kidding aside, I like the consistency. Order a burger and fries, I know what I'm getting and what it's going to taste like.
- A simple menu results in fast service, a fact to be appreciated when you're tired and hungry.
Guide Review - Reno In-N-Out Burger
I actually cook at home, so don't make fast food a habit. However, I find In-N-Out Burger convenient and tasty when I'm just too pooped to face a cookbook, like when rolling back into town after a day of hiking or snowshoeing. The burgers and fries hit the spot at times like those, and I'm not sorry later that I indulged. I can't say the same for other fast food chains I've tried.
The Reno In-N-Out Burger is next to US395 at 8215 S. Virginia Street and E. Patriot Blvd.
