Wildflowers grow in abundance around Reno / Tahoe, both in the desert areas and up in the relatively moist Sierra Nevada. Spring can be a colorful season when conditions are right.

Spring Splashes of Color Paint the High Desert
Beckwith's violet is one of spring's early bloomers. These beautiful little blossoms grow close to the ground and sometimes create dense patches of color. The Huffakers Hills of south Reno produce these in abundance.
