Pictures of Rock Park in Sparks
Rock Park in Sparks was seriously showing its age in 2008, 30 years after it was first established on the banks of the Truckee River. After a complete overhaul, it reopened in May of 2009 with a new Whitewater Park at Rock Park, consisting of over 1,000 feet of fun - five drop pools for kayaking, tubing, and rafting. Riverbank modifications provide for safe water play areas for children.

Pictures of Virginia City, Nevada
Virginia City is a place right out of the Old West. Visitors will find intact many of the places that made it one of the richest spots on Earth during its late 1800s heyday. You can stroll the wooden sidewalks, have a drink in a saloon, learn the history in numerous museums, tour a mine, and marvel at how millions in silver and gold were wrested from the bleak environment on the side of Mt. David

Reno Workers Pictures
Reno's workers are the people who build and maintain our streets, buildings, parks, businesses, and all the other places we use every day. They are out there in good weather and bad, helping make Reno and the Truckee Meadows a nice place to live. We tend to take them for granted, but we would sure notice of they didn't help keep things humming along.

Reno Santa Pub Crawl Pictures
A variety of Santas, Mrs. Santas, elves, and other holiday beings take to the downtown streets for the annual Reno Santa Pub Crawl. This roving party attracts hundreds of revelers who visit over two dozen bars and nightclubs around the neighborhood. The Reno Santa Pub Crawl isn't totally about selfish debauchery, though. Proceeds from the event benefit local charity organizations.

Fall Color Pictures from the Reno / Lake Tahoe Region
Fall color comes to Reno / Tahoe foliage starting toward the end of September and peaks through October, though exactly when the leaves change color varies somewhat from year to year. If the weather remains mild and slowly cools down as autumn transitions into winter, the fall color show will last for several weeks. A sudden cold snap will make trees shed their leaves quickly.
