Spring and Summer in the Great Outdoors

When snowmelt fills the rivers and waters the fields, the Reno / Lake Tahoe region greens up for spring and summer outdoor recreational pursuits. Wildflowers pop in both desert and mountains, trails beckon hikers and bikers, and waterways host a variety of boaters and water play enthusiasts. It's a wonderful time to play in the Reno / Tahoe great outdoors.

Fall and Winter in the Great Outdoors

Fall brings splashes of gold to the high desert and Sierra Nevada as the trees prepare for our crisp and snowy Reno / Tahoe winter. You won't find better fall hiking and photography anywhere. Once snow covers the Sierra Nevada, numerous resorts around Lake Tahoe offer some of the world's best skiing. Lots of other nearby winter activities include snow shoeing, snowmobiling, and plain old family fun on sledding and snow tubing hills.

Pictures of the Great Outdoors

I've been around a bit and have yet to find a place more suited to creating outstanding outdoor photographs than the Reno / Lake Tahoe region. Contemporary photographer Galen Rowell travelled the world, but always came back to the eastern Sierra as his favorite place on the planet. And John Muir was right on when he said, "I have crossed the Range of Light, surely the brightest and best of all the Lord has built."
