Summer Camps for Kids at UNR in Reno

Summer camps for children of all ages are being offered by Extended Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), with KIDS University, Lake Tahoe Music Camp, and Wolf Pack Sports Camps. The summer camps run from June through August. Registration for camp sessions is available online and also by phone. Call (775) 784-4046 or (800) 233-8928, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

KIDS University

June 11 - July 27, 2012. KIDS University is a summer day camp for kids entering 2nd through 8th grades and features week long sessions with different themes. There are both full day and half day sessions. To learn more about sessions, dates, and registration, visit the KIDS University website. You can also download the KIDS University brochure. Full-day sessions are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a lunch break followed by afternoon recreational activities. Half-day sessions run from 8 a.m to 12 noon. A $25 non-refundable / non-transferable deposit is required for each weeklong session at time of registration. There is a lot of information here - be sure to read it carefully. Fees range from $156 - $195 per week for full-day camp and $104 - $130 per week for half-day camp.

Wolf Pack Sports Camps

June - August. Summer Wolf Pack Sports Camps are offered for K - 12 children of all ages and abilities. The camps are hosted by Nevada Wolf Pack coaching staff and current and former players and provide opportunities for young athletes to have fun, learn new skills and get a feel for what the college experience is like by using UNR's own athletic facilities. Many camps also include an NCAA education session.

Full-day, half-day, and overnight Wolf Pack camps are available in baseball, basketball, football, and golf. Schedules and individual / team fees vary with each camp. Lake Tahoe Music Camp

July 22 - 28, 2012. The 56th annual Lake Tahoe Music Camp invites middle school through high school student musicians to participate in a week of music-making, workshops, performances, and fun. The overnight camp is held at the Nevada State 4-H Camp in Stateline, NV, on the shores of Lake Tahoe. Sessions are conducted by award-winning UNR faculty and regional educators, guest conductors, professional chamber and jazz musicians and more.
