Events & Things To Do With Dad

Reno Rodeo
The big Reno Rodeo will be in full swing on Father's Day. Sunday will feature a full day of rootin' tootin' fun for dad and the whole family.

Father's Day Special at Washoe County Golf Course
Take dad to the Washoe Golf Course and he plays nine holes for free with a paying adult or child. Playing time is between noon and 6 p.m. For tee times, call (775) 828-6640. The course is administered by Washoe County Parks.

Father's Day at The National Automobile Museum
Every dad likes cars and Reno has the National Automobile Museum, one of the finest in the country. It's in downtown Reno at the corner of Lake and Mill Streets, with plenty of free parking. On Father's Day, dads get in free when visiting with their families. No sales tax is charged on purchases from the Museum Store, making it a great place to buy a gift for dad. Ride the V & T Railroad
The restored V & T Railroad runs between Carson City and Virginia City on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through October 31. This is a terrific outing for dad and the whole family, especially if someone happens to be a railroad buff. A steam locomotive pulls the train on Saturdays and Sundays, diesel on Fridays. This is a popular activity, so get tickets in advance or you will likely be left standing at the depot.

Steams Rides at the Nevada State Railroad Museum
Bring dad down to take a ride around the Nevada State Railroad Museum in an authentic train car pulled by V&T locomotive #25. Purchase tickets at the Wabuska Station with cash or check, no credit cards. Ticket price does not include Museum admission. Father's Day Rafting on the Truckee River

Play a Round of Disc Golf
The Ranch Disc Golf Course recently opened in Reno's Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. Dad and the whole family can enjoy a round at Reno's newest sporting venue, and it's free to play. Get out and try something different on Father's Day.

Father's Day Special from the Reno Aces
The Reno Aces Father’s Day special includes two outfield reserved tickets, a T-shirt for dad, and two hot dogs and sodas. The package is $50 and includes the opportunity for each father and child to play catch on the Aces Ballpark field before the game. It is available either Friday, June 24 or Thursday, June 30. Additional tickets are $18 each.

Dash for Dads Cheetah Chase
Treat dad to an evening of speed at Animal Ark. The Dash for Dads Cheetah Chase is an opportunity to watch three cheetahs racing at speeds close to 70 miles per hour. The big cats will be off-leash, pursuing a lure around a football-sized field at the Animal Ark facility. The Dash starts at 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 19. Stewart Father's Day Powwow in Carson City
Celebrate Father's Day and experience Native American heritage and history at the Stewart Father's Day Powwow, June 17 - 19. There will be over 100 dancers, arts and crafts vendors, Indian tacos, and more. Admission is free. Grand Entry is at 7 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, and 12 noon on Sunday. This is an alcohol and drug-free family event at the Stewart Indian School, 5500 Snyder Avenue, Carson City, NV 89701.
