Tour de Nez Bicycle Racing
The 2009 Tour de Nez is happening over the Father's Day weekend. Reno's big downtown circuit race is on Friday, June 19, with other events through the weekend up in Truckee and Northstar-at-Tahoe.

Reno Rodeo
The big Reno Rodeo will be in full swing on Father's Day. Sunday will feature a full day of rootin' tootin' fun for dad and the whole family.

Father's Day Special at Washoe County Golf Courses
Take dad to either Sierra Sage Golf Course or Washoe Golf Course and he plays nine holes for free with a paying adult or child. Playing time is between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Both courses are administered by Washoe County Parks.

Father's Day at The National Automobile Museum
Every dad likes cars and Reno has the National Automobile Museum, one of the finest in the country. It's in downtown Reno at the corner of Lake and Mill Streets, with plenty of free parking. On Sundays, local northern Nevadans receive 2-for-1 admission. No sales tax is charged on purchases from the Museum Store, making it a great place to buy a gift for dad. Father's Day Weekend Steam Up
At the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City, dads ride for half price on June 20 and 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. He will ride in cars from the Virginia & Truckee RR, pulled by an 1888 steam locomotive. For train buffs (and for fun), this is the real deal. Train ride tickets are good for $1 off regular admission to the museum and 10% off museum store purchases. Sales tax is not charged at the store. Stewart Father's Day Powwow
Celebrate Father's Day and experience Native American heritage and history at the Stewart Father's Day Powwow, June 19 - 21. There will be over 100 dancers, arts and crafts vendors, Indian tacos, and more. Admission is free. Grand Entry is at 7 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, and 1 p.m. on Sunday. This is an alcohol and drug-free family event at the Stewart Indian School, 5500 Snyder Avenue, Carson City, NV 89701.

Father's Day Bluegrass Festival
Head over to Grass Valley, CA, for the Father's Day Bluegrass Festival. The 34th year of this event will be at the Nevada County fairgrounds from June 18 to 21. Nevada City Bicycle Classic
That's Nevada City, CA, right next door to Grass Valley. This 49th Annual Nevada City Bicycle Classic is on Father's Day, June 21. Join the crowds for the action from several races through the streets of downtown Nevada City. This is a Lance Armstrong Jr. National Series Event. You can count on every store in the region featuring Father's Day specials. To find some local Father's Day sales, head over to Reno / Tahoe shopping malls or find something a bit more unusual in downtown Reno's Riverwalk District.
