Family New Year's Eve Party at Squaw Valley - Celebrate New Year's Eve at High Camp with a fabulous night on the mountain, complete with entertainment for the whole family. This all-ages party begins at 6 p.m. and includes a starry-night cable car ride (ride up at 5, 5:15, 5:30 or 5:45 p.m.), spectacular buffet dinner, music. and dancing for the young and old alike. You'll bring in the new year with a 9 p.m. East Coast New Year's champagne toast (sparkling apple cider for the youngsters), then ride back down to the Village to view the 9:30 p.m. New Year's Eve Fireworks display. New Year's Eve in Olympic House at Squaw Valley - Those looking to bring in the New Year with style can join the party at Squaw Valley's Olympic House. Billed as the biggest party on the North Shore, Olympic House hosts 2 DJs and a live band spread across all 5 watering holes in the lodge. Cover is $10 at the door (cash only) and you must be 21+ with a valid ID. The party starts at 9 p.m. and goes till drink service ends at 1:30 a.m. A fireworks display is scheduled to launch from the Village at 9:30 p.m. on New Year's Eve.
New Year's Torchlight Parade and Fireworks at Mt. Rose - Start the New Year off right with an extended day at Mt. Rose. Enjoy a torchlight parade, food, drinks, fire pits, and an early fireworks show before continuing your festivities down the hill. The party will be at Winters Creek Lodge on the Slide Bowl side of the resort. Rose Ski Tahoe is at 22222 Mt. Rose Hwy.
A Heavenly New Year Celebration - Ring in the New Year at Heavenly (South Lake Tahoe) during the celebration at the Heavenly Village. This will be one of the best family-friendly celebrations at Lake Tahoe. New Year's Eve at Northstar California - Ring in the New Year at The Village at Northstar during the annual Fire & Ice New Year's Eve Celebration, a party with guaranteed fun for all ages. There will be a DJ, live music by Led Zeppelin 2 - The Live Experience, a spectacular fireworks show lighting off at 9 p.m., smores, drink specials, shopping, dining, ice skating and more. Lake Tahoe SnowGlobe Music Festival - December 29 - 31. This will be the first-ever SnowGlobe Music Festival. For three days, the festival will rock Lake Tahoe's South Shore, offering three main stages of world-class musicians, including Pretty Lights, Bassnectar, Thievery Corporation, The Glitch Mob, and Porter Robinson, to name a few. New Year's Eve at The Crystal Bay Club - The Whitney Myer Band will be rocking the Crystal Bay Club Red Room to bring in 2012. There's no cover for this party. New Year's Eve at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe - The Ritz-Carlton is located on the mountain at Northstar. On New Year's Eve, there will be numerous choices for dining and a party in the Manzanita restaurant and bar to bring in the New Year. As you might suspect, none of this is for the budget minded. New Year's Fireworks in Downtown Reno
If you are in Reno for New Year's Eve, come to the 2012 Reno New Year's fireworks show. There is great viewing from Virginia Street by the Reno Arch. The show is sponsored by the downtown hotel casinos and the City of Reno. Be downtown at midnight for this spectacular fireworks display and fun street party.
