Produce and other goodies from Reno / Tahoe farmer's markets aren't necessarily the cheapest around, but they are the freshest. You'll know what I mean when you taste a farmer's market peach or fresh Nevada grown vegetable. Compared to the supermarket stuff, it's no contest. There's a farmer's market going somewhere near you almost every day of the week during summer and early fall. Here are the dates and times for the 2013 season. More will probably be added, so check back often.
Sparks Hometowne Farmer's Market
The undisputed champ of Reno / Tahoe farmers' markets is Sparks Hometowne Farmer's Market, held in Victorian Square Plaza on Thursday afternoons and evenings through the summer. Besides the produce, there is free entertainment and vendors offering a variety of food, drink, crafts, and other products. Thousands of people attend this market every week.
