Produce and other goodies from Reno / Tahoe farmer's markets aren't necessarily the cheapest around, but they are the freshest. You'll know what I mean when you taste a farmer's market peach or fresh Nevada grown vegetable. Compared to the supermarket stuff, it's no contest. There's a farmer's market going somewhere near you almost every day of the week during summer and early fall.

The undisputed champ of Reno / Tahoe farmers' markets is Sparks Whole Foods Hometowne Farmer's Market, held in Victorian Square Plaza on Thursday afternoons and evenings through the summer. Besides the produce, there are vendors offering a variety of food, drink, crafts, and other products. Thousands of people attend this market every week.
