This year, there is one five day session in June, held on campus at the University of Nevada, Reno - Exploring Nevada's Native Americans.

What are Global Kids Camps

Global Kids Summer Camps provide children with an opportunity to learn about the world and different cultures through a variety of fun activities that teach about people, languages, arts, history, food, sports, music, and lots more. The goals are to "teach and excite children about their world around them, attempt to break down stereotypes to better show the realities of different communities, and to help them better understand their role as global citizens."

Exploring Nevada's Native Americans - Kids will experience the culture of Native Americans in the northern Nevada area, particularly that of Washoe, Paiute and Shoshone tribes. Here is the NNIC description of the camp - "Have you ever wanted to weave dream catchers, see ancient rock symbols, shoot with a bow and arrow, or make fry bread? Come spend a week discovering the language, stories, food, art, music, and sports of Nevada’s Native Americans! Activities include field trips to Meeks Bay at Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake to best experience Paiute, Shoshone, and Washoe culture right in your own state."
