Bring the kids to an Easter egg hunt at one of these Reno / Tahoe locations. There will be a variety of both church-sponsored and non-denominational Easter egg hunts and events from which to choose.

Every year, Evelyn Mount Community Outreach prepares and gives away Easter baskets to those in need of a helping hand. Donations and volunteers are always needed to help with this and other efforts by this unselfish woman. For more information, visit Evelyn Mount at 2530 Cannan St. in Reno. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

If you are going to be around Lake Tahoe, there are some Easter egg hunts with a wintry flavor.

Saturday, April 16

Easter Day in the Park - Easter Day in the Park is for the area residents of the Pat Baker Park community. Events start at 11 a.m. and will be at Pat Baker Park, 1910 Bishop St. in Reno. There will be music, lunch, an Easter egg hunt, photos, bags of groceries, and raffle prizes. Sponsored by Hillside Foursquare Church. For more information, call (775)322-3004.

Easter Bunny Program at the Sierra View Library - Starting at 12 noon, there will be an Easter egg hunt around the library and an Easter craft time. There will also be a visit by the Easter Bunny. As always, library events are free. The Sierra View Library is in the Reno Town Mall, 4001 S. Virginia Street in Reno. For more information, call (775) 827-3232. Easter Egg Hunt at Comstock Park - This free Easter egg hunt is from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in Comstock Park, corner Double Diamond Parkway and Carat Ave. in south Reno. You'll find a bounce house, cookie decorating, lots of eggs for kids to find, and a fun family atmosphere. For children K to 5th grade. Sponsored by Hope Community. Easter Egg Dash at Idlewild Park - The Easter Egg Dash is a free event for kids preschool through 6th grade. There will be games, prizes, bounce houses, candy, and the dash to collect thousands of Easter eggs. The event is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Snowflake/Terrace Shelters at Idlewild Park, 1805 Idlewild Dr. in Reno. Sponsored by The Bridge Church. Call (775) 323-7142 for more information.

Rock Church Community Wide Easter Egg Hunt - Bring the kids and their Easter baskets to the 4th Annual Easter Egg Hunt and great family celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Event is free with an optional small fee for food and drinks. Activities will include bounce houses, food, age appropriate areas, face painting, bake sale, and more. Sponsored by The Rock Church at 4950 Vista Blvd. in Sparks. Sparks Nazarene Church Community Easter Egg Hunt - This Easter egg hunt begins at 10 a.m. and will be at Oppio Park (by Sparks Middle School), 2355 18th Street in Sparks. Easter Egg Hunt and Chicken Festival - Garden Shop Nursery in Reno, 3636 Mayberry Drive, will be hosting its first annual Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Bunny will be arriving by fire truck at 10 a.m. and then the egg hunting begins. There will be 4 age groups for the kids, and an adult egg hunt in Whitby's and the greenhouse. The Northern Nevada Poultry Fanciers Assoc. will be hosting a "Day with the Chickens." This event is a meet and greet with the members of the chicken club and their poultry. Easter Sunday, April 24

Egg-cellent Easter Bash at YMCA of the Sierra - The YMCA of the Sierra, 850 Baring Blvd. in Sparks, will be hosting this family event from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. There will be multiple Easter egg hunts starting at 11:15 a.m., a bounce house, family art projects, cookie decorating, and lots of other fun. Prizes will be awarded the day of the event. Easter Egg Hunts at Mt. Rose - Starting at noon, the Mt. Rose Main Lodge will be the site of Easter Egg hunts for kids ages 3 to 12. Hunts will be divided up by age - 3 to 5, 6 to 8, and 9 to 12. For bigger kids, there will be a geocaching egg hunt for dozens of hidden prize eggs around the mountain. Coordinates will be available at the start of the hunt on Easter Sunday or you can get them from the Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe website starting on April 17.

Xtreme Easter Celebration at the Peppermill - Arcade Xtreme in the Peppermill, 2707 S. Virginia Street in Reno, will be having free Easter Egg Tickets Hunts at noon, 2 p.m., and 5 p.m. The Easter Bunny will be hopping around handing out free candy.
