With Reno being the world epicenter for Burning Man (or at least the closest big city), it naturally follows that we have a resident collection of interesting stores equipped to support the somewhat unusual supply needs of Burners. While virtually any food, clothing, or hardware store can be pressed into service, these locally-owned emporiums take Burning Man seriously and carry the stuff needed by successful citizens of Black Rock City.

    Pedal Power for Burning Man

With the possible exception of virgins (first-time Burners), everyone knows that a bicycle is as essential to enjoying Burning Man as an amply supply of Pabst Blue Ribbon. Reno has bike shops that can fix you up with an appropriate playa-grade clunker, or you may choose to rent a ride and return it after the burn.

    • Reno Bike Shops - From this selection, Black Rock Bicycles may be your best bet for Burning Man bikes.
    • Sierra Adventures - A Reno outdoor outfitter that rents bikes and other gear, and can arrange shuttle service to Black Rock City. (866) 323-8928.
