hands/ON! on 2nd Saturdays
hands/ON! and 2nd Saturdays were formerly on separate dates each month at the NMA. Starting in 2012, they were scheduled on the same day (second Saturday of the month) and now called hands/ON! on 2nd Saturdays. It works like this - admission to the Museum is free for all visitors on the second Saturday of the month, during regular hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Families and other visitors who wish to do so may participate in the free hands/ON! activities being offered between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Each hands/ON! on 2nd Saturday program will feature a different theme and set of activities, such as art projects, docent-led gallery activities, storytelling, and performances in the theater. The monthly theme may be related to Museum exhibitions, area cultural events, and/or events in the community. Go to the NMA online calendar to find out what will be going on at each hands/ON! event.
Second Saturdays are free thanks to the Nightingale Family Foundation. Support for hands/ON! is provided by Mathewson CLAT #4, the Sato Foundation, the City of Reno Arts & Culture Commission, and Art4Moore.
