The Nevada Museum of Art (NMA) is a unique cultural resource, bringing world-class exhibits and events to Reno and northern Nevada. The NMA strives to be part of the community and an asset everyone can enjoy by periodically presenting outstanding exhibits, along with events and programs that appeal to a wide variety of visitors. Without the NMA, we would not have the globe-trotting art that visits Reno or the opportunity to participate in a varied mix of cultural experiences. hands/ON! and 2nd Saturdays are two programs specifically designed to draw the local crowd.

hands/ON! on 2nd Saturdays

hands/ON! and 2nd Saturdays were formerly on separate dates each month at the NMA. These are now scheduled together on the same day (second Saturday of the month) and called hands/ON! on 2nd Saturdays. It works like this - admission to the Museum is free for all visitors on the second Saturday of the month, during regular hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Families and other visitors who wish to do so may participate in the free hands/ON! activities being offered between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Each hands/ON! on 2nd Saturday program will feature a different theme and set of activities, such as art projects, docent-led gallery activities, storytelling, and performances in the theater. The monthly theme may be related to Museum exhibitions, area cultural events, and/or events in the community. Go to the NMA online calendar to find out what will be going on at each hands/ON! event.

Support for hands/ON! is provided by the Terry Lee Wells Foundation, Leonette Foundation, the Mathewson CLAT #5, the Sato Foundation, Art4Moore, City of Reno Arts & Culture Commission, and Western Nevada Supply. Second Saturdays is sponsored exclusively by the Nightingale Family Foundation.
