Lock Your Love in Lovelock

On Valentine's Day, you can symbolically "lock your love" at Lovers Lock Plaza in Lovelock, NV, home to the only love-locking "eternal" chain in the US. At 11 a.m., you can be part of the third annual Lovers Lock Anniversary Celebration, complete with a wedding and vow renewal ceremony. Afterward, you can lock your love to the chain as part of this ancient Chinese custom. The wedding part of the celebration is a real, Christian-based ceremony, so if you are going to actually get hitched, you'll need a Nevada marriage license.

Valentine's Day in Lovelock happens during their Balloon Lovers Aloft hot air balloon festival from February 13th to the 15th. More than 20 balloons will launch each morning for a variety of aerial competitions.

Lovers Lock Plaza is next to the Pershing County Courthouse in the heart of Lovelock, and Lovelock is 93 miles east of Reno on Interstate 80. For more information, call (775) 273-7213 or visit the Lovelock Valentine's Day web page.
