Labor Day in Reno, the last big holiday of the summer, falls on Monday, September 7 in 2009. There are plenty of things to do for your last summer fling, and then begins the long slide into fall and winter. Fortunately, we are situated right in the middle of a myriad of activities, some of which don't even require a car to attend. Cost-conscious folks (which is just about all of us these days) can have plenty of Labor Day fun without breaking the budget.

Reno Area Labor Day Activity Ideas

It isn't necessary to drive much to find fun Labor Day activities right here in our own neighborhood.

Lake Tahoe Area Labor Day Activities

South Lake Tahoe is the only place near Reno that will have a Labor Day fireworks show. It will be on Sunday, September 6, starting at 8:30 p.m. Show up early if you want to snag a spot at one of these best viewing areas - Nevada Beach, a couple of miles east of Stateline, and El Dorado and Regan Beaches, right in the city of South Lake Tahoe.

Other Area Labor Day Activities

Both Carson City and Virginia City have fun things to do during the Labor Day holiday.
