Fall in Reno - time for craft fairs and holiday gift shopping.

Craft fairs are a good way to get a head start on holiday shopping. You can find good deals and buying locally made art and craft items keeps your dollars circulating right here in our own neighborhood. (Note: More craft fairs will be added as information becomes available.)

McQueen Craft Faire

Friday - Sunday, October 21, 22, 23 - The McQueen Boosters Guild is holding their 26th Annual McQueen Craft Faire. Friday features Premier Night Shopping from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. This is adults only, no children or strollers are allowed. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. Everyone is welcome Saturday and Sunday - Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $5. A $1 off coupon is available on the website. The event will be held at McQueen High School, 6055 Lancer Street, Reno, NV. There will be about 160 exhibitors, food booths and entertainment at the show. Many of the exhibitors are local artisans and the items are handmade. There’s lots of free parking so kick-off the fall shopping season with us.

Annual Holiday Craft Faire at St. Paul's United Methodist Church

Saturday, October 29 - This fair is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature local crafters, artists, a bake sale, and more. Admission is free. A lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. St. Paul's is located at 1660 Grandview Ave. in Reno. For more information or to inquire about vendor booths, call (775) 747-1431.

Sparks Nazarene Church Harvest Festival

Sunday, October 30 - Join us from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for games, food, gourmet coffees, cakewalk, candy, s’mores and more. Activities for all ages. Admission is one can of food. There will be a Trunk or Treat for children to go from car trunk--to- car trunk collecting Halloween candy. The church is at 2200 El Rancho Dr. in Sparks. Call (775) 358-4066 for more information.

30th Annual Arts & Flowers Luncheon at the Atlantis

Wednesday, November 2 - This event will be from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno. Hosted by the Volunteers in Art at the Nevada Museum of Art, this popular event benefits the exhibition and education programs of the Museum and features more than 20 artisans offering handcrafted wares, a silent auction, and a raffle. Tickets are $50 per person or $450 for a table of 10. Space is limited, prepaid reservations are required. For questions and additional information, call (775) 329-3333.

Assistance League's Senior Sampler

Friday - Saturday, November 4, 5 - Get a jump on your holiday shopping. The Senior Sampler Holiday Craft Fair is Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be at the Assistance League Thrift Shop at 1701 Vassar St. in Reno. Admission and parking are free. This event provides supplemental income for senior craftsmen and artisans. For more information call (775) 329-1584.

Reno Gem and Mineral Society Craft Fair

Friday - Sunday, November 4, 5, 6 - The Reno Gem and Mineral Society's annual craft fair will be in the Reno Town Mall, 4001 S. Virginia St. Free parking and admission. Get more information at (775) 356-8820.

Lake Mansion Jingles with Art and History

Saturday, November 19 - Families with children of all ages celebrate the holidays, art and history during this annual free event at the historic Lake Mansion. Enjoy the art creation stations for children to make and take their own masterpiece home, photos with Santa, arts and crafts for sale, tours of the mansion, and descendants of families who lived in the mansion will be on hand to answer questions. This free event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Patty Cafferata will be there signing copies of her book, The Lake Mansion: Home to Renos Founding Families. The Lake Mansion is at 250 Court Street in Reno. Home 4 the Holiday’s Craft Fair at the Siena

Saturday, November 19 - Come to the Home 4 the Holidays Craft Fair at the Siena Hotel Spa Casion, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Find great holiday gifts and help the homeless dogs and cats at Nevada Humane Society at the same time. Art, crafts, jewelry, pet-related gifts and more. Admission is free to the Home 4 the Holidays Craft Fair. For more information, call (775) 856-2000.

Crafts for Christmas at John Ascuaga's Nugget

Friday - Sunday, November 25, 26, 27 - This holiday gift festival will feature over 100 craft and gift booths, cooking and baking demonstrations, flower arranging exhibitions, children's Christmas craft making, and lots more. It will be in the Nugget's Rose Ballroom. Free admission and parking. Hours are Friday from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Nugget is located at 1100 Nugget Avenue in Sparks.

Magic of Santa Arts and Crafts Fair

Saturday - Sunday, November 26 - 27 - This big show will feature juried crafters at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center, 1350 Wells Avenue in Reno. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $4 per person. Get $1 off admission by donating a can of food for the Northern Nevada Food Bank. Holiday Harvest Farmer's Market

Saturday - Sunday, December 3 - 4 - Come to The Summit shopping center in south Reno for seasonal, locally-grown produce like pomegranates and persimmons. There will also be handcrafted holiday decorations and goodies to eat like pies, breads, and sauces. The market will be next to Yankee Candle. Call (775) 853-7800 for more information.

Native Tommo Craft Fair

Friday, December 16 - Support Nevada's Native American crafters. The fair will be at 10 a.m. at the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Gym and Park, 34 Reservation Road in Reno. Admission is free. For more information, fall (775) 336-8896 or (775) 560-9965.
