Virginia City St. Patrick's Day Parade & Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry

Virginia City's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade is at high noon on Saturday, March 17, featuring marching leprechauns and other green attractions. In conjunction with the parade, participants in the Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry will be serving up this delicacy (Yes, they are either beef or sheep testicles, or some of both. I'm not sure.) cooked in a variety of ways. I've never tried it, but I've heard that if you like clams, mussels, or real oysters, you'll like these. The Fry will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Delta Saloon parking lot. There will be lots of other fun St. Patrick's Day activities for kids and families. For more information, contact the Virginia City Visitor's Center at (775) 847-4386.

Celebrate this St. Patrick’s Day with three and nights of freeride and backcountry clinics, as well as yoga and meditation classes sound-tracked with reggae, house and dub-step beats at the Freeride Flow Festival, March 16 - 18, at Kirkwood Mountain Resort. Spend your weekend focused on just one area or mix it up with a combination of classes and concerts.
