Fortunately, the woman was near enough to rush over and quickly pull the girl out. It is also lucky that she fell into a calm spot at the edge of the rocks. Had she drifted out into the main current, she would have quickly been swept downriver. The woman and I were the only ones who could have immediately gotten to her, and had that failed, the incident would likely have had a tragic ending. The girl was lucky - she was only wet, cold, and frightened.
