Residential Dump Days gives Truckee Meadows residents an opportunity to properly dispose of regular trash, yard waste, and bulky household items. The spring 2014 event will be on Saturday and Sunday, April 5 and 6. Dumping will only be at the local transfer stations. The Lockwood Landfill is normally closed on Saturdays and Sundays. About Single-Stream Recycling in Reno

Single - stream recycling is now operating throughout the City of Reno. The system is a big departure from what Reno residents have been doing to recycle refuse and keep it out of the landfill. So far, single - stream recycling is not available to residents of Sparks or the unincorporated areas of Washoe County.

As participants in Reno's single-stream recycling program, residents may dispose of one standard pickup bed of municipal solid waste four times per year for free at either the Reno or Stead transfer station.
