The Discovery opened in September, 2011 and has proven to be an instant success with its hands-on exhibits that cater specifically to curious children. The Discovery is a great place to bring the kids and enjoy a day exploring and learning about Nevada and the world around us. The full name of The Discovery is the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum.

About The Discovery

The Discovery is a hands-on, interactive place where visitors are encouraged to indulge their interests in science, art, and local history. Besides exploring the exhibits on their own, visitors to The Discovery can participate in numerous organized educational activities throughout the year. The Discovery hosts field trips for local school children and offers a place for fantastic birthday parties.

In their own words, from The Discovery website..."As northern Nevada continues to grow, the region's cultural and educational offerings must also expand in order to keep young minds thriving. The Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum (The Discovery) is designed not just to meet this need, but to raise the bar for fun, family-based learning throughout our community. The museum also aims to provoke new aspirations and collaborations among children, parents and educators. The Discovery is a place of open eyes, open minds and open horizons. A place where tomorrow's dreams win their wings."
