Main Highways from Reno
Interstate 80 (I80) is the main and most direct east-west route from Reno and over the Sierra Nevada mountains to California. Going east, I80 takes you all the way to Chicago.
U.S. 395 is the primary north-south highway passing through Reno. It begins at the Canadian border in Washington and goes all the way to a southern California intersection with I15 in the Mojave Desert, almost to Mexico. In the Reno area, it is called the Martin Luther King, Jr. Freeway.
