Santa trains will be running this weekend (December 14 and 15, 2013) at two locations close to Reno. It's the last chance to get on board this holiday season - Santa will be heading up to the North Pole to get ready for his big Christmas Eve trip.

Santa trains at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City will depart Wabuska Station from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are only $3. This is a popular activity and seats fill up quickly, so get there early. Pictures with Santa are available for $6.
The Candy Cane Express, on the V & T Railroad in Virginia City, will make two runs per day (12 noon and 2 p.m.) between Virginia City and Gold Hill this weekend, with passengers being served cider, hot chocolate, and cookies and candy canes by the Candy Cane Sisters. Tickets are $14 for adults, $7 for children (ages 2 and under free). Call (775) 847-0380 for more information.
The Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola will run a Santa train on Saturday, December 14, from 5 p.m. to p.m. Admission is $10 per carload, or $5 per carload with a donation of at least 3 non-perishable food items for the local food bank. Call (530) 832-4131.
