Hold on to your brains - zombies will be prowling the streets during the Reno Zombie Crawl on Saturday, October 26. The crawling starts at 8 p.m. at Harrah's Plaza (next to the Reno Arch) or any of several start bars in downtown Reno. The party moves around town all night among over 45 participating watering holes. Needless to say, this is an adult drinking event, so bring your ID, book a room, or make sure you have a safe way to get home.
Your entry to the Reno Zombie Crawl is a $5 cup, available in advance from Junkee Clothing Exchange, the Melting Pot, and Chocolate Walrus in Reno, Prism Magic in Sparks, and Adam & Eve in Carson City. Each participating bar offers crawlers $3 drink and beer specials and no cover charges. Included is at least one costume contest at each venue, so put on your best zombie costumes for this event. Should you need help with a costume, check out these stores for your zombie garb.
The Reno Zombie Crawl now includes two additional events, both open to everyone. The No-Brainer 5K fun run starts at Wingfield Park in downtown Reno at 10 a.m. All participants receive a T-shirt, and those 21 and over get a free cup to the evening's Zombie Crawl. You can enter as an individual or with a team. At 7 p.m., join the crowd for Thriller under the Reno Arch and dance to Michael Jackson's famous zombie tune. Zombies are asked to show up at 6 p.m. to register and get in position before the dancing begins.
The Reno Zombie Crawl is just one of the themed beer, bar, and pub crawls held during the year. These are in addition to the regular Reno Beer Crawl, an event held on the 4th Saturday of each month.
