The frigid weather through the beginning of 2013 may have had a chilling effect on everyday activities, but it's made for great ice skating conditions. According to the information I have, hours of operation during the last weekend will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Rink on the River is at the corner of First and Virginia Streets. Before heading out, call the Rink Hotline at (775) 334-6268 to make sure it isn't temporarily closed due to adverse weather or ice conditions. Those who want more ice skating opportunities this winter can find other places with my article "Ice Skating Rinks in the Reno / Tahoe Area."
