The Fleischmann Planetarium and Science Center is a cool place to enjoy spectacular movies and out-of-this-world star shows. In addition, there is a Live SkyTonight Star Talk and free telescope viewing every month.

Feature movies and star shows playing during winter 2013 include Saturn: Jewel of the Heavens, Ice Worlds, Attack of the Space Pirates, and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. Get details about what's showing right now from "Feature Films and Star Shows at Fleischmann Planetarium".

A new program by the Fleischmann Planetarium is free telescope viewing every Friday after dark (weather permitting) at the MacLean Observatory on the UNR Redfield Campus, assisted by the Astronomical Society of Nevada. Call (775) 784-4812 before coming for the current status and more information.

Movies at the Fleischmann are projected on a full-dome screen inside the planetarium theater. It's sort of like IMAX only it surrounds you even more. Another cool thing is that it's way cheaper to see a movie here than at the regular theater - $7 adults, $5 kids and seniors, and free for Planetarium members. Admission to the Planetarium Exhibit Hall and science store is always free for everyone. Exhibits are changed on a periodic basis, so there is always something interesting. This is a family-friendly place where kids can have fun and learn something at the same time.

The Fleischmann Planetarium and Science Center is at the north end of the UNR campus at 1650 N. Virginia St. in Reno. You can't miss the unusual building. You can park for free in the West Stadium Parking Complex, level 3, next to the Planetarium. The showtime phone number is (775) 784-4811.
