Families and kids can enjoy a variety of fun winter activities at Galena Creek Visitor Center.

Organized activities include guided snowshoe hikes, programs for kids up to 10 years old and as young as 2 years old, nature and environmental book discussions for adults, and the Community SnowSchool coming up in February.
You don't have to join an organized activity to enjoy visiting Galena Creek Visitor Center and Recreation Area. The park is open daily until dusk for winter things like snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snow play. During winter, the Galena Creek Visitor Center is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday through Sunday. Parking is free and there are no park entry fees.
Galena Creek Visitor Center and Recreation Area is part of Galena Creek Regional Park, located 18350 Mt. Rose Highway in south Reno. For more information, call (775) 853-4050 or (775) 813-7136.
