The camp will be run by Bighorns assistant coach Deane Martin, head coach at the University of Idaho last year. "The goal of the camp is to develop basketball skills at a young age," said Martin. "We will be working on passing, shooting, dribbling, one-on-one and also playing competitive five-on-five games."
The camp will be held at the Alf Sorensen Community Center, 1400 Baring Boulevard in Sparks. The Wednesday session is for girls in second through sixth grades. The Thursday camp is for boys in second through sixth grades. Both days run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost of the camp is $75. Each camper will receive a free ticket to a Bighorns game with their registration. To register or for more information, call the Bighorns front office at (775) 853-8220.
Bighorns home games are played in the downtown Reno Events Center, 400 N. Center Street. The Bighorns will be playing 24 home games this season. Check my "Reno Bighorns Basketball Schedule" article for a complete list of games, both at home and away. Tickets for the 2013 NBA D-League Showcase are on sale now. The Showcase runs January 7 through 10 at the Reno Events Center.
