For November, the theme of hands/ON! is "Rhythms of the Great Basin: American Indian Art." The November schedule for hands/ON! is in my article about events and activities at the NMA.
Free admission to hands/ON! on 2nd Saturdays includes all current exhibits at the Nevada Museum of Art as well. Be sure to check out the exhibits and other events at the only accredited art museum in Nevada.
To enhance your visit to the NMA and the hands/ON! on 2nd Saturdays experience, be sure to see the exhibit The Way We Live: American Indian Art of the Great Basin and the Sierra Nevada of contemporary art made by American Indians in the Great Basin and Sierra Nevada region.
Those interested in Native American art may want to explore the world of "Rock Art in Nevada." There are several places in northern Nevada where you can experience fascinating prehistoric petroglyphs and pictographs. My article tells you where.
The Nevada Museum of Art is located at 160 W. Liberty Street in downtown Reno.
