The first, presented by Guy Clifton, is "Images of America: Reno." Clifton will present some Reno history in the form of rarely seen photographs from the archives of the Reno Gazette-Journal and private collections. The talk is based on his new book, one of Arcadia Publishing's Images of America series. Clifton's presentation will be on October 24.
On November 28, Dick Dreiling will present "History of Reno, 1868 to ca 1920 as Shown on Postcards." The cards are from Dreiling's personal collection and will be shown in PowerPoint format. He is a volunteer at the Sparks Heritage Museum and has lived in Nevada since 1947.
These "Free Lectures from the Historic Reno Preservation Society" are offered on the fourth Wednesday of the month. The talks start at 7 p.m. and are at the Mt. Rose Elementary School, 915 Lander Street in Reno.
