Residential Dump Days for fall 2012 will be on Saturday, October 6 and Sunday, October 7. This is your chance to get rid of that accumulated junk, trash, and yard waste with cheap and free dumping at two local transfer stations. Be sure to read my article to learn about what items are accepted during this event.

You can dump bulky items and many household appliances for free. These are things like couches, mattresses, and refrigerators that are commonly dumped illegally out in the desert around the Truckee Meadows. Other items and trash will be accepted at reduced rates. Note that this event does not include dumping at the Lockwood Landfill, which is closed on weekends. This event is for residents only. Commercial customers will be charged regular rates. Note that electronics and hazardous waste are not among the items that will be accepted.
Please take advantage of Residential Dump Days and help keep our fragile desert and open spaces free of the blight of illegal dumping so we can all enjoy the beautiful northern Nevada landscape.
