The north campus parking lots at the University of Nevada, Reno, will be closed to public parking due to a Wolf Pack football game that starts at 12:35 p.m. on Saturday. The lots will be reserved for permit holders attending the football game. These lots will again be open for Great Reno Balloon Race parking on Sunday, September 9, from 3 a.m. to 10 a.m.
On Saturday, Great Reno Balloon Race fans can park for free at the West Stadium Parking Complex (enter on 16th Street) and the Brian J. Whalen Parking Complex (enter on S. Virginia Street) on the UNR campus. All other parking options will be available each day, including those at Rancho San Rafael Park managed by Reno South Rotary ($10 donation). And remember, parking along McCarran Blvd. is prohibited.
You can save yourself the parking hassle by taking RTC RIDE buses to the event. The bus ride schedule is from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. Places you can hop on a bus include Reed High School in Sparks, Reno-Sparks Convention Center parking lot C in south Reno, and the RTC 4th Street Station in downtown Reno. The last trip returning from Rancho San Rafael Park leaves at 10 a.m.
