As usual, the Tour de Nez is an official event on the National Racing Calendar (NRC) with USA Cycling and attracts some of the top pros to ride in Reno. In the spirit of being a community event, the Tour de Nez includes bicycling events just about anyone can participate in. If you've got a beater bike and the ambition to decorate it in just about any kind of funky or funny way, you can ride in the Legendary Clunker Classic. Kids races will be staged right in the area where the pros speed by the start / finish banner. Wingfield Park will be full of food, drink, and sponsor vendors, giving the whole thing a fun, street party atmosphere.
The 6th Annual Reno Bike Project Bike Swap will be at Barbara Bennett Park, across the Truckee River from the main venue. Check it out for great deals on bikes and related items. You may find some bargains and will be helping out a worthy cause. Another concurrent event at Wingfield Park is Artown's Pop Art Cycles, a free display of the mingling of art and bicycles.
