Follow me on:

After a cool and windy couple of days, the weather forecast is calling for mostly sunshine and temperatures in the 70s and 80s as we get into the weekend. It will be a busy weekend in the Reno / Tahoe area and there are certainly some interesting things to do. Note that "free" is part of many of these activities. For even more, go to my monthly list of Events in the Reno / Lake Tahoe Region.

If you have an event or activity you'd like to publicize for free, you can do it right here on RenoTahoe.About.com. Just go to Reno Area Events Submitted By Readers and fill out the form at the bottom of the page. Once approved, your entry will appear for Reno / Tahoe visitors to see.

Carson City Rendezvous - Admission to the Carson City Rendezvous is free. Bring the family to enjoy Wild West fun all weekend at Mills Park in Carson City, June 8 through 10.

Free Fishing Day in Nevada - Saturday, June 9, is Free Fishing Day in Nevada. There will be two events in Reno especially for children and families. One will be at Sparks Marina Lake and the other will be in Reno's Idlewild Park. If an organized event isn't your thing, there are plenty of other places to fish in the Reno area.

hands/ON! on 2nd Saturdays at the Nevada Museum of Art - The second Saturday in June is the 9th. Admission to the Museum is free for all visitors on the second Saturday of the month. Families and other visitors who wish to do so may participate in the free hands/ON! activities being offered between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Each hands/ON! on 2nd Saturday program will feature a different theme and set of activities, such as art projects, docent-led gallery activities, storytelling, and performances in the theater.
