Holiday Adventures is the winter break camp offered by the City of Reno. Camps for kids ages 6 to 14 will be at three different locations. Each camp operates from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. There will be two week-long sessions - December 26 to 30, 2011, and January 2 to 6, 2012. Camp activities will include sports, arts and crafts, field trips, board games, contests and more. Parents need to provide a lunch, snack, and drinks each day. The fee is $100 per week or $30 a day. Christmas Capers is a winter break program offered by the City of Sparks. It's for children in kindergarten through 6th grade. There will be two sessions, each going daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. - December 27 to 30, 2011, and January 3 to 6, 2012. All will be at the Sparks Recreation Gym, 98 Richards Way. The program offers field trips, sports, games, crafts and more. The fee is $120 per week or $43 per day ($100 per week or $36 per day for Sparks residents). Dig It Volleyball Camp for girls in grades 6, 7 and 8 is being offered by the City of Sparks, from January 3 to 5, 2012. The camp, from 9 a.m. to noon each day, teaches girls the skills and techniques of volleyball, and provides hands on training. It will be held at Alf Sorensen Community Center, 1400 Baring Blvd. The fee is $43 or $36 for Sparks residents. Winter Break Art Camp at the Nevada Museum of Art - Kids are invited to play, discover and experiment with art at the NMA's Winter Break Art Camp. Each day offers a different media to explore, including clay, painting and drawing. Kids will get to create their own works of art and explore the museum's galleries. Sessions are 9 a.m. to noon, December 27 through 30. Cost is $108 or $96 for museum members. Sign up online or call (775) 329-3333.
Holiday Art Camps from VSA Nevada - VSA Nevads is holding two sessions of Holiday Art Camps at its Lake Mansion location, 250 Court St. in Reno. Each date block - December 26 to 30 and January 2 to 6 - has both morning and afternoon sessions, from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Each day campers will experience art, creative movement and drama.
