The Nevada Day 2011 parade will be on Saturday, October 29. The parade is the biggest Nevada Day event, but far from the only thing going on during a weekend of celebrating in Carson City.
Nevada was admitted to the Union as our 36th state on October 31, 1864. The official 2011 holiday for Nevada government will be on Friday, October 28 - state and local offices will be closed, including the DMV, courts, and libraries.

The Nevada Day Celebration is centered in Carson City, Nevada's first and only capital city. The theme for 2011 is Nevada's Great Outdoors. Nevada Day Parade co-Grand Marshals will be Chris Healy of the Nevada Department of Wildlife and Smokey Bear.. Various Nevada Day events will be spread over four days, from Thursday, October 27, through Sunday, October 30. Saturday's Nevada Day Parade starts at 10 a.m. and runs down Carson Street, from William Street on the north to Stewart Street on the south. The parade is well attended, so I'd get there early to stake out a good viewing spot.
