#about - Despite budget cuts, our Washoe County Library continues to feature outstanding programs and activities each month. The variety is amazing, with reading programs for children and teens, family movies, and activities for adults and seniors, to name just a few. All of this is free to library patrons.

Some programs, such as Banned Books Week at the end of September, span the system and others are specific to certain branches. The library activities I've listed give you a look at what's going on during the month, but each branch has additional activities specific to that branch. Contact the library near you for details.

Hours at Sierra View, the system's busiest branch, changed starting September 6, 2011. This library is now open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is no longer open on Saturday, but other branches are. My Washoe County Library Hours and Services article has the details for all Washoe County Library branches.
