If you don't have a ticket to Burning Man 2011, you are probably out of luck. They sold out in July, for the first time in Burning Man history. However, if you do have a ticket and are headed out to Black Rock City next week, you have a few days to get geared up for your week on the playa. Burning Man 2011 starts on Monday, August 29 and flickers out on Labor Day, September 5.
Something you may still need is a Burning Man bike, one of those two-wheelers essential for getting around the huge expanse of the Burning Man site and tough enough to survive the experience. From what I've heard, there are still playa bikes available in Reno from the Reno Bike Project and the Kiwanis Bike Program. Other places to check are the numerous bike shops around the Reno / Sparks area.
Of course, one does not do Burning Man with bikes alone. Check out these Reno area supply depots for all of those accessories the well-equipped Burner must have for a successful stay in Black Rock City - costumes and clothing, night lighting items, camping gear, food and drink, etc.

An amazing amount of organization goes into this event. For me, Burning man is cool to observe from the comfort of home, otherwise much tooo hot
But for some it’s an annual pilgrimage not to be missed in person.
Looks like an interesting event. We don’t have similar ones here.

Looks fun!
Burning Man is on my bucket list, but not for this year. I think there’s a Burning Man documentary available on Netflix. I may have to check it out!
