Discover Your Parklands is a series of free ranger-guided tours of eight different parks in Washoe County. There are two tours remaining in 2011 and both offer opportunities to learn about the wonderful variety of public parks we are fortunate to have in the Reno area. Tours are on Thursdays and start at 7 p.m.
- August 25 - Learn about the recreational opportunities and family fun at Galena Creek Recreation Area and Visitor Center.
- September 8 - Tour the historic buildings at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park.
If you haven't been here long, or simply haven't checked out the parks in Washoe County, these guided tours are a great way to learn about the wide variety of recreational opportunities we have right here in the immediate vicinity. From undeveloped open land to a new disc golf course to a restored historic mansion, our Washoe County parks contain some amazing things to see and do.
