#About - Strictly speaking, JB Mapes & Company isn't exactly new, having opened in November, 2010. The eatery offers downtown diners another choice and can be described as "upscale" when compared to the majority of Reno's restaurants. I have yet to eat there, but I did pay a visit and found modern, pleasant decor that looked like it would be a pleasant atmosphere in which to enjoy a meal. JB Mapes & Company is owned by Beatrice Hamilton, who also runs the Be Abundant boutique right around the corner on 1st Street. The restaurant is in the Palladio building facing Sierra Street, between 1st Street and the Truckee River (50 N. Sierra St., Suite 103). Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call (775) 323-1944.
