#About - The Galena Living History Festival is this Sunday, August 14, at the Galena Creek Visitor Center and Recreation Area in south Reno. The festivities will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include activities you might have participated in when Galena was a frontier town during the 1860s. Kids and families will learn about hat making, butter churning, clothes washing, and join in pioneer and fishing games. When you get powerful thirsty, you can head over to the saloon and belly up to the bar where apple juice and soda will be served. You are encourage to wear period attire and kids in costume will receive prizes. The cost is $5 per pioneer.

The Galena Creek Visitor Center is looking for volunteers to help with the Living History Festival at Galena Creek Regional Park. Volunteers will help visitors learn about life in the 1860s at various crafts and activity tables, such as hat making, butter churning, and demonstrating how clothes were washed.
