Everyone has heard of Hot August Nights, but how about Hot August Bikes? As a gathering for bicycle enthusiasts rather than car fans, Hot August Bikes: Gleaming Tube Show and Shine will feature some of the coolest bikes roaming the streets of Reno, and you can bring your ride to this free event.

Hot August Bikes: Gleaming Tube Show and Shine is brought to us by the Reno Bike Project. It will be at the Nevada Museum of Art on Thursday, August 4, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be titles awarded in 20 categories, including best in show, best cruiser, best kid's bike, best bike shop entry, and lots more. This is a family event and there will be live music and free refreshments.

Registration begins at 4 p.m. and judging commences at 5:30 p.m. Even if you don't bring a bike to enter, you just might be inspired to try out the increasingly popular 2-wheel mode of transportation around the Truckee Meadows.
