The Tour de Nez returns to its roots for 2011, running the pro criterium and other races along the traditional route through downtown Reno. This year's Tour de Nez will be a one day affair with everything happening on Sunday, July 31. Nez fans will note that the event has been moved from June as in years past, which is a better time in the bicycle racing world for an event in Reno. It will be an official event on the National Racing Calendar (NRC) with USA Cycling and attract the best field of pro riders to ever ride in Reno.

The 2011 Tour de Nez is involved with Artown through PopArtCycle, a bicycle art project you'll be able to see at various businesses around town during July. The bikes will be at Wingfield Park for the Tour and get to run a lap on the circuit. Other traditional Tour de Nez events will also be there, including handcycle racing, races for clunkers and kids, the Tour N'alleycat, and parties at the event venue and various other downtown Reno locations. Things will wrap up around 4:30 p.m. so Wingfield Park can host the Artown grand finale that evening.
