The Y comes to downtown Reno

Reno recently got a new place to get and stay fit, brought to us by the YMCA of the Sierra. It's The Y Downtown Wellness Center. Located on the corner of N. Sierra and 1st Streets, the facility is one block from City Hall, one block from the Truckee River, and surrounded by everything going on in the heart of Reno.

I popped in to check out The Y shortly after it opened last month and I can tell you... it's nice. Everything is brand new, the facility is spotless and bright, and it isn't "gymish." I think just about anyone would be comfortable getting their fitness on here. And being on the 3rd floor, there are some great views over Reno to the southwest. Rates are competitive and there is no signing fee or contract. Scholarship assistance is available for those who qualify.

The Y has a deal with the city-owned Parking Gallery right across the street for two hours free while you are using the facility. If you are a frequent downtown visitor, The Y could be the fitness place you've been looking for. Check it out.
