Popular baby names is one of the bits of information compiled by the Social Security Administration (SSA). I don't see how it's of much real use, but lots of people probably find it interesting. If you welcomed a new Nevada baby in 2010, see if you went along with the pack or gave your child a more unique name. If you are about to welcome a new family member and still thinking about names, this list just might help.
Whether or not it's on the list, I invite you to share the name(s) you have given to your children. Let us know what you think are good names for a child or grandchild.
Being the curious sort, I tried doing a nationwide search on my own name (and a couple of variations) and found that my moniker is not so common these days. The only version that cracks the top 1000 in 2010 is Stanley at 685. It's on a downward slide, though - it was 505 in 2000. The short version, Stan, and my real name, Standley (long story), are not even on the radar.
