*1907 Thomas Flyer, winner of the 1908 New York-to-Paris automobile race. This car is on permanent exhibit at the National Automobile Museum (The Harrah Collection) in Reno, Nevada. A re-enactment of the original race, titled World Race 2011, rolled through Reno on Tuesday, April 26, and the Thomas Flyer led the modern racers on a lap around downtown Reno. The Flyer then returned to its Museum home and the race continued to San Francisco, where the cars will take a slow boat to China and then resume the run to Paris.

How cool. I would love to see this for real. What a rich history.
Have a terrific WW.
That loks like fun, Like it might not go too fast to be topless.
We’ve come a long way, from doubting that the automobile was a viable mode of transportation, to being addicted to our cars, although perhaps unable to afford the gas to make them run!
Very cool — I love the headlights. Is the rope so that a horse could tow the car when it ran out of gas or got stuck in the mud?
That is neat! How wonderful that the car still had enough juice to make a round – albeit a symbolic one – in the modern race.
Looks fun!
I played too. Mine are here and here.
