Get a jump on the 2011 food growing season by attending a free presentation from Master Gardener Randy Robinson - "The Keys to Successful Vegetable Gardening." You'll learn about techniques that work to produce good results in our harsh climate and short growing season. Robinson's talk is part of Gardening in Nevada: The Bartley Ranch Series, brought to us by the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension (UNCE) and Washoe County Parks. This looks like just the thing if you are sick of winter and anxious to get out and dig in the dirt.
The presentation begins at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29. It will be held in the Western Heritage Interpretive Center at Bartley Ranch Regional Park, 6000 Bartley Ranch Road in Reno. For more information, call (775) 784-4848.
To help you get ready for the growing season, check out the plants, supplies, and advice from any of several excellent nurseries and garden centers around the Truckee Meadows.
