Welcome the first day of spring (March 20) with the annual Spring Equinox Walk at the Labyrinth Garden in the Wilbur D. May Arboretum at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. Taking part in the walk is free and it begins at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 20. Rancho San Rafael Botanical Society volunteer and county librarian Susan Stewart will join walkers to explain the development, use, and benefits of labyrinth gardens throughout history.

"Labyrinths have been used for centuries as tools for bringing peace into people's lives," said Arboretum Horticulturist Bill Carlos. "Their patterned circuits offer an ideal place for people of all faiths and beliefs to meditate while walking."
The Labyrinth Garden at the May Arboretum and Botanical Garden is dedicated to victims of violent crime in our community and their loved ones. The garden project was initiated by the Washoe County District Attorney's Office, Nevada Attorney General's Office, and Victims in Crisis, Turmoil or Recovery (VICTORY).
