The 2011 edition of Forbes' The World's Billionaires is out and a number of very wealthy Nevada residents made the list. Of the eight, a few are fairly high profile. Others tend to fly under the general interest radar and you may have never heard of them, except when Forbes does their annual billionaires thing.
As you might expect, most of them raked it in from the casino / resort / hotel business. Of the others, there is a Walmart heiress, a medical devices innovator, and two brothers who are making it big with a controversial (but very profitable) sports league. The top guy, many billions ahead of the rest, is casino mogul Sheldon Adelson. Check out my Wealthiest People in Nevada article to learn who they are.
