The current featured exhibit at the Nevada Museum of Art (NMA), Explorer, Naturalist, Artist: John James Audubon and The Birds of America, features fifty of Audubon's most dramatic and life-sized watercolor paintings from the first-edition printing of The New York Historical Society Edition. The works on display are from The Dana Rose Richardson Memorial Collection of Audubon Prints housed at the NMA. The exhibit runs through February 13, 2011.

Ghost Bird - Saturday, February 6 - 2 p.m. Showing of the documentary film Ghost Bird, which follows the search for the ivory-billed woodpecker, a bird thought to have been extinct. A portion of the proceeds go to the educational initiatives of the Museum and the Lahontan Audubon Society. Admission is $10, $8 for museum members.
Second Saturdays are Free - Admission to the NMA is free on the second Saturday of each month through 2011. This gift is made possible by the Nightingale Family Foundation.
