A series on the Travel Channel, Mysteries at the Museum, will feature Reno's National Automobile Museum in an episode to be aired on Tuesday, January 11. It will highlight the story of the DeLorean sports car, a gold-plated copy of which greets visitors in the lobby of the Museum. Thanks to the 1985 movie Back to the Future, starring a DeLorean as the time machine, most people know about the car's existence. Few, however, know the convoluted story surrounding its rise and fall. Tune in at 8 p.m. PST to find out how an ultra-cool car became a museum piece.

The National Automobile Museum is among the best of its kind in the world. The National Automobile Museum features cars from the dawn of the automobile age through the present day. The National Automobile Museum is also called The Harrah Collection because most of the vehicles on display are from late casino mogul William F. Harrah.

The National Automobile Museum is at 10 S. Lake St. in downtown Reno, next to the Truckee River. There is free parking for museum patrons. The Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is open every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas. Regular admission prices are $10 for adults, $8 for those 62 and over, $4 for children 6 to 18, and free for kids 5 and under. For information, call (775) 333-9300.
